Basic breathing exercise - Bhastrika pranayam : Baba Ramdev

Sit comfortably.

Keep your spine straight.

Inhale / Breath in with both the nostrils.

Fill up fully your lungs upto diaphragm with air.

Donot expand your stomach, expand your chest ribs.

Inhale / Breath in comfortably.

Exhale / Breath out with both nostril.

Exhale / Breath out comfortably.

(Exhale / Breath out with some force if you are experienced practitioner or if you are doing this exercise for more than a month)

Always take advice from registered medical practitioner before doing any exercise.

Do this breathing exercise for two to five minutes.

This breathing exercise is first step towards meditation.

This breathing exercise is good for lungs.

All breathing exercises are good for our whole physical body as well as our thinking process. They provide us more oxygen, calm our mind.

The humming breathing exercise - Brahmari pranayam : Ramdev Baba

Sit erect ( spine straight ) in any comfortable position.

Raise your hand, both palms facing your forehead.

Close your ears with the help of your thumbs so that you do not hear any outside sound.

Place your index finger on forehead, close your eyes by placing comfortably next two fingers, ring finger and middle finger on your eyes. The little finger should be placed on the side of the nostril base.

Inhale through both nostrils at your comfort level.

Exhale through both nostrils making humming sound like mmmmmmmmm or hummmmmmmm in your throat.

Keep your mouth closed.

The sound while exhaling is like a honey / humming / buzzing bee.

Repeat. Their is no sound while inhaling.

Do this breathing exercise from 3 to 21 times as per your comfort level.

This breathing exercise makes you feel relaxed, helps reduce stress and anxiety.

Do this breathing exercise and experience the benefit.

All breathing and yogic exercises develop your complete body.

Sit in any position of your liking.
Keep your spine straight.
Exhale air forcefully out from both nostril by contracting abdomen.
During exhaling, abdomen should be pushed in.
Do not inhale consciously.
Let the air be inhaled automatically.
Inhalation should be natural.

This breathing exercise can be done from 5 minutes to 15 minutes.

Do not strain while doing this exercise.

Be relaxed, of course keep spine straight.

Do one exhale per second, that is 60 exhalations per minute.

This breathing technique would give exercise / massage to inner body parts like stomach, large intestine, small intestine, liver, lungs etc.

This exercise should not be done by those suffering from high blood pressure, heart disease, gastric ulcer, hernia, epilepsy, vertigo.

Easiest Exercise - Conscious Breathing

Breathing Consciously is the easiest form of exercise.

Alive people breathe 24 hours a day.

You would wonder what is conscious breathing?

Conscious breathing means being aware that we are breathing.

In conscious breathing, we are aware - when we inhale, when we stop, when we exhale, when we stop and again when we inhale, on and on.....

Try conscious breathing for a week.

It may be difficult initially, you will start enjoying it.

11 differences between Yoga and Normal Exercise

1. --------------
Normally all movements in Yoga are round movements. Hands and Legs, Torso, Body is moved in natural round movement.


In normal exercise round movement are not used much.

In Yoga movements are relaxed.

In normal exercise movements are forced.

3. --------------

In Yoga chances of sore muscle are almost negligible.

In normal exercise sore muscle is sign of good exercise.

4. --------------

Yoga concentrates on joint, muscles, stomach, pancreas, liver, intestine, mind, lungs, tongue, eyes, etc.

Normal exercise concentrates on developing muscles.

5. --------------

If yoga is done regularly, there is no chance of catching cold, flu and many other diseases.

While in normal exercise cold and flu recurs.

6. --------------

In yoga when body expands we should inhale and when body contracts we should exhale.

Such rules are not thought while doing normal exercises.

Normally Yoga is done to keep our self healthy.

Normal exercise is done to make our body beautiful, strengthen muscles.

Yoga relaxes us.

Other exercises do not relax us to the extent yoga does.

What to do if you are unable to sleep ?

When you go to bed to sleep and are unable to sleep, you wait for sleep to come. Change your sides, but unfortunately sometimes you are unable to sleep.

There can be various reasons for not being able to sleep. May be you are under stress or you have some tension, or you slept much during the day. Some times even though you are feeling sleepy, but are unable to sleep.

Instead of just lying on the bed, do the following:

1. Sit and rub your feet, give massage to your feet including sole's for 5 minutes each.

2. Massage both your calf's for 5 minutes each.

3. Rub your palm and massage your wrist upto elbow for 5 minutes each.

4. Massage you hand and feet, toes and fingers.

5. Sit. Keep your spine straight. Fold your hands and touch your shoulder's with your palm fingers and rotate your arms from your shoulder for 10 times.

6. Straighten your hands, close your palm with thumb inside your palm, touch both your closed palms together and rotate your palms.

7. Straighten your legs, keep them together and rotate your feet’s, both together ten times clockwise, ten times anti clockwise.

8. Lie down on your stomach, put your palms besides your shoulders, raise your chest and shoulders, bring them down. Do this for 5 times.

9. If you know about yoga, pranayam than do them. Just remember you need to be empty stomach to do some yoga and pranayam.

10. Meditation is a conscious sleep, which gives better results than sleep. If you had done meditation in past than do it now also, instead of just lying down and waiting to sleep.

This is for people who do not have any illness and may not be able to sleep some times due to some stress or tension or due to any other reason.

Do you know what is the value of your spleen !

Do you know what is the value of your pancreas !

Healthy body is the biggest wealth.

Give time for proper maintanence of your body.

Devote time to take proper care of your body.

Your body is not just your skin or hair.

Taking care of your skin and hair is not enough.

Let the glow come from within your body.

Improve your inner body.

Improve your stomach, lungs, intestine, spleen, pancreas etc.

Remove toxins from your body.

Give exercise to your body.

Do Yoga and Pranayam and learn to Meditate.

Movie stars have great body. They earn money because of their looks and body and acting skills and not because of their clothes. They keep themselves healthy and take good care of their outer and inner body.

The Easiest Exercise - Clapping

Clapping is the easiest form of exercise.

Clapping our palms everyday for 5 minutes or for 500 times keeps us healthy.

Clapping our palms is an easy way of giving acupressure to all the points in our palms.

We do not have to remember each and every pressure points of the palms.

Tapping our feets and clapping the back of our palms is also a good form of exercise.
